The AXXIS Segmented range of backrest options provides solutions from the simple to the sophisticated. Built around the revolutionary mounting hardware which allows adjustment for seat depth, backrest angle, backrest height and spinal/pelvic rotation, the AXXIS Segmented range offers a custom fitted backrest for all wheelchair users.
The unique AXXIS backrest shell has 5 adjustment zones, providing independent lateral support at the pelvic and thoracic levels. Integrated strapping within the backrest allows for adjustment to provide the ideal lumbar profile. Each AXXIS segment has the ability to provide the lateral and curvature support required. Using the unique mounting system different sized AXXIS segments can be joined to create a custom fit for any body.
The mounting system allows adjustment of seat depth, backrest angle, backrest height and assymetrical positioning to support trunk and pelvic rotation.
The mounting system is easy to attach to any wheelchair with backrest posts. It is easy to remove for transport or for use on different wheelchairs (eg. power and manual).
Because of the flexibility and range of adjustment the AXXIS backrest can be adjusted over time as client needs change. It can also be adapted for use on different wheelchairs for different clients.
The AXXIS segmented system integrates perfectly with a wide range of accessories, including head rests, lateral supports, harness adaptors cushion retainers etc.
It will also allow for fitting of a wide range of third party accessories.

AXXIS tall segment medium 30 to 38cm / 12" to 15" wide - 19cm (8") high
AXXIS tall segment large 35 to 43cm / 14" to 17" wide - 19cm (8") high
AXXIS tall segment X-large 40 to 50cm / 16" to 20" wide - 19cm (8") high

The AXXIS system has been crash tested to ANSI RESNA QC/19 - standards for wheelchairs used as seats in motor vehicles.
