The Natural-Fit LT comes in two pieces: The contoured thumb area and the oval handrim component. It is the combination of these two components that gives the Natural-Fit its unique ability to provide a superior gripping surface, a place to rest your thumb, and dual surfaces for propulsion and braking. However, because we recognize that each person has their own preferences, we want to briefly provide two examples of how these components may be used separately. For instance, if you are only interested in a larger gripping or braking surface, then you may want just the oval handrim component. Wheelchair users concerned with chair overall width can mount this component on inside tab position in the same way standard handrims can be "close mounted". As with the complete Natural-Fit, the oval handrim, even if ordered separately, is presently available for 22", 24", 25" and 26" spoke wheels with 6-position rivet nut (for mag wheels) or tab mounts. Alternatively, if you are only interested in closing the gap between your rim and wheel and in having a place to rest your thumb, then the contoured thumb component of the Natural-Fit handrim may be all you want. This can be installed using your existing handrim on 22", 24", 25" and 26" wheels. This option will safeguard the fingers from being caught in the spokes, and provide a bigger surface for pushing without the need for tire contact. Both the Thumb Area and Oval handrim components are available for purchase separately.
